2013 Form Challenge #10 Nocturna The last challenge was intended to help you relax a little. The challenge for the next two weeks is even more so. What can be more relaxing than a poetry form about the night. The Nocturna is a nine line form that is constructed using three, three line stanza. 2013 Theme Challenges #09 It'll Never Catch On I remember some 20 years ago watching a TV documentary on computers for the home and thinking - nope, that will never catch on! How wrong was I? As poets on Tir na nog we are all using the idea I thought would never catch on. So the theme challenge is the computer. 2013 NaPoMo Do you think you are capable of writing a poem a day for 30 days? Every year in April, the Academy of American Poets holds a National Poetry Month (NaPoMo), and each poet that takes part in this challenge writes a poem a day for the 30 days of April. Every member of this community is given a 30 page chapter in a book I construct during this month. Any form can be used and any genre written about during this period. Please post your challenge in the Poetry Round with the title and a sub heading; day and NaPoMo. It would also save me some work if you copied it to the NaPoMo workshop, but if you don’t I will. Hall of Fun I would like all poets who post a funny poem in the Poetry Round to copy it to the Hall of Fun, once its here in due course I will create a web page and install it in there. In the Hall, you will find a table of contents similar to the Challenge TOC. Each poem will be a page in a chapter dedicated to that poet. Bawdy is OK and Fun, Porn is not permitted. Sonnet House In 2010 we ran a Months Sonnet Challenge and it was very popular and so it was decided that every August we hold a sonnet month. In 2010 it was based purely around sonnet forms of the Elizabethan Era, but in 2011 it was decided to allow any sonnet form and a large area was covered as well as a new one developed. This year (2012) we encourage the variation of sonnet forms. Every poet that takes part will be given 31 pages that forms a book of sonnets of that year.	RSS Email	3	15	0	Change of seasons... Don't worry in here Ceridwen has created a series of work shops that will help you wake your muse up or drag the recalcitrant back on board. In here you will find a series of proven exercises that as well as being fun hopefully will get you back on path. Being the sagacious person she is, she realises no two are alike and gives alternatives. This cosy little corner is provided for poets who wish to write in old English or their own local dialect. It will also welcome overseas guests who also wish to express themselves in their own local version of English. I would emphasise that all poetry should be posted in the Poetry Round and then copied here for preservation.

Divena has copied “The Diary of a Farmers Wife” a diary that covers just over a year of Anne Hughes life in 1796 – 7. The English used here might help some of you construct your own period poetry.

The poetry posted here will be placed in their own website and referenced from here and also I will be providing links and pages on the subject of Middle English.
