Twilight V
And his beloved told him "I am afraid of the dark"
And he replied to her
"Twilight glimmers with unclaimed dreams
all of which are unspoken during the day
but at night lovers have their trysts
and speak of their love
and make their plans.
There can be no lies
for the eyes are the gateway to the soul
as well as light the path to love
how can deception hide
for it can only be seen as a denial
and the shadow cast
can be seen to hide the truth.
Troths made in sunlight cast no shadow
for the sun is all embracing
and overpowers the eyes
and can be false.
Yet the promise made even in twilight
can shine so bright there is no denial
and at this time dreams are created
that in the sober light of day cannot be believed.
I say to you trust the night not the day
when you eliminate all the falseness
and are left with an alternative
surely that alternative must be the truth".
