Church Whispers
The students sit
Hisspering the questions to themselves
Whilst thumbing through the publication
As if invoking Saraswati
Just like the little old ladies you see
Clutching their rosary beads
Kneeling down in front of lit candles
Suddenly there is a smile
And the eyes light up
Another letter is circled
Another question answered
A student stands up
Hands me her paper
As the last student finishes
I mark the papers
And we finally walk away
Once again the Goddess
Forgotten..
The students sit
Hisspering the questions to themselves
Whilst thumbing through the publication
As if invoking Saraswati
Just like the little old ladies you see
Clutching their rosary beads
Kneeling down in front of lit candles
Suddenly there is a smile
And the eyes light up
Another letter is circled
Another question answered
A student stands up
Hands me her paper
As the last student finishes
I mark the papers
And we finally walk away
Once again the Goddess
Forgotten..
