Loudee dances in the rain,
she seldom ever stops;
laughing eyes when Daddy says
to run between the drops.
Spinning, splashing in the wet,
her spirit flying free.
Remembering the little girl
who lived inside of me.
Singing unabashedly,
ignoring sister's looks.
Wrapped in dreams of childhood joy,
lost in storybooks.
A Child's Garden of Verses
the ship on which she sailed,
burning beacon in her heart-
A light that never failed.
Turning circles, round she went,
cartwheels down the lane,
innocent of life to come,
unaware of pain.
Open-hearted towhead girl
believed that life was good.
Wouldn't change her artless grace,
even if she could.
Mama set her on the path,
gave her strength and pride.
Choices made in years to come
would make her spirit hide.
Violence and heartache,
tears through which shed wade,
almost drowned her shining soul-
She never let it fade.
Love and loss and lessons learned
find me here today,
questioning what I should do?
What would Loudee say?
Sacred dreams that rest within,
all and each a part,
of the little girl who lived in me-
The keeper of my heart.
Dance, she says, as raindrops fall,
catch them on your tongue.
See the magic in the night,
live where stars are hung.
With gentleness she takes my hand,
we spin forever free.
The never ending wheel revolves.
I remembershe is me.
she seldom ever stops;
laughing eyes when Daddy says
to run between the drops.
Spinning, splashing in the wet,
her spirit flying free.
Remembering the little girl
